From the beginning of the first subway was born in1863, the whole world beganto carry out large-scale development and utilization of the subway traffic. The subwayhas become a sign of urban development as it’ s large passenger, fast quasi-time andlow energy consumption. Today, people’s attitude towards the space of the subwaystation has been shifted from the original simple structure reasonability to the pursuit ofcomfort, ecological and aesthetic space.As the traffic pressure increasing in Xi’an, Xi’an Subway emerged. As one of thefirst historical and cultural city, the ancient capital of Xi’an’s planning and constructionis always the focus of attention. The core area of Xi’an, the city area of Ming Dynastyis a top priority. Xi’an Metro line2as well as the planning and construction of the1,4and6lines goes through this area, and will form13stations like the Bell Tower Stationand the Dachaishi Station. How can these stations create a beautiful, comfortable feelingof space, but also the geographical characteristics of the Xi’an city characteristics intoone to form other modern forms different from other regions? Designers need to thinkdeeply about the problem.In this paper, based on the collected literature of the aspects, I will combine thehistory of the development of domestic and international metro construction, andsummarize the contemporary geographical features subway architectural trends accordingto the domestic and international regional characteristics in the instance of the subwayconstruction by type of subway construction space characteristics,development status,design ideas, creative approach parsing. I hope to explore the architectural space designconcept reflects the Xi’an native features and characteristics and geographical features inthe case study to several sites of Xi’an Metro line2operations.
