Bolted end plate connection composite beam-compound spiral hooped reinforcedconcrete column (SC beam and CCSHRC column composite structure) is a kind of newstructure system, which can fully exert its structural and economic advantages of steeland concrete materials. But through the investigation of earthquake damage, it is foundthat joint connection properties of prefabricated structure have poor reliability undercyclic loading, which is difficult to meet seismic requirements. In order to improve theseismic performance of the structure, it needs to study the joint seismic performance ofSC beam-CCSHRC column composite structure for the weak link. It has great value onguiding the design and promotion of composite beam and compound spiral hoopedreinforced concrete column system and formulation of relevant regulations, to find outfailure mechanism and load carrying mechanism of this new composite joint, and tostudy the design of end plate and bolt and the effect of bolt exerting pretension stress onjoint stiffness. Following works have been done in the paper:(1) To analyze and summarize the computational model of bolted end platecomposite joints, and to discuss the strength calculation of bolt connection, and todeduce the design formula of the thickness of end plate, to give the structural measuresof bolted end plate connections combined with experimental study at home and aboard,and to provide reference for the specification of related regulations and engineeringapplication.(2) To analyze the force mechanism of the joint between SC beam (steel andconcrete composite beam) and CCSHRC column (high-strength continuous compoundspiral hooped reinforced concrete column) particularly, to propose the force model of joints and design recommendations on structure, and to analyze and derive calculationformula of joint shear capacity, combined with domestic and international test data.(3) To further verify the suitability of the calculation formula of joint shearcapacity for the new composite joint-bolted end plate connection, which is proposed bythis paper, and to compare and analyze the formula specified by Japan and the UnitedStates, with deep analysis of the tests and data processing, based on the test of boltedend plate connections made by the research group and the test of12specimens done byHuaQiao University.
