Analysis And Treatment Of Traction Power System Harmonics Of High Speed Railway

Nowadays, the electrification of the railway transportation is the artery of a country. Itnot only reflects the ability of innovation of science and technology and machinerymanufacturing capability of a country, is also one of the important symbols of thedevelopment level of a country’s comprehensive national strength degree and modernizationdegree. However, behind the high-speed development, it brings a series of problems. Withmany domestic electrified railway systems built and long-term practice operation, theinfluence of harmonic problem on the safety and reliability in the operation process of thehigh-speed railway gradually draws people’s attention.Based on analyzing the causes, hazards, characteristics, analysis methods and treatmentsof harmonic in traction power supply system of the high-speed railway, a simulation model oftraction power supply system of high speed railway was built by MATLAB/Simulink tools inorder to providing harmonic source for subsequent simulation. Next, the detailed design process of Hybrid Active Power Filter (HAPF) was described followed by subsequent modeling of the designed HAPF. Finally, an optimized hybrid power filter system was added in the tractionpower supply system model to test its effect.The harmonic waveform simulation results before and after adding the filter indicatedthe harmonic treatment effect of hybrid power filter system was significantly improved andmade high-speed railway of the whole power supply system of the harmonic stay withinacceptable and controllable level, achieving effective protection of the normal operation of theupper level of substation effectively and making the high speed railway supply system and thesuperior power grid running safely and efficiently.
