As people pay more and more attention to the problems of environment andenergy, clean energy first became a competitive energy form. Now our using energywas mainly coal, oil and natural gas, and oil and natural gas’s prices not onlycontinued to rise, but the price system is also very fragile, as well as using coal’s wayfaced environmental pressure, used nuclear energy also had security risks. Secondly, coal, oil and natural gas were not clean energy. When they burned a lot of pollutants, such as carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, were released, to give riseto environmental pollution.Biomass and other renewable energy which belongs to the clean energy did notemission harmful substances, and biomass was the fourth large energy sourcefollowing oil, coal and natural gas, which gradually got the attention of the human inmodern times. Hydrogen as a clean energy and energy carrier had been attached greatimportance to the development and use of the technology by industrialized countriesin recent years. Hydrogen was an ideal energy carrier, it only produced water when itburned, and it never produced any pollution compared with the traditional energysources. Mean while there were the higher energy density, the higher thermalconversion efficiency, the lower cost of transportation and many other advantages.Itwas an ideal fuel for clean fuel cell and internal combustion engine. High temperaturesteam gasification of biomass was a method for generating hydrogen energy. The limiting step of biomass gasification was tar pyrolysis’ reaction temperature. It was found that when the temperature reached900℃-1000℃the tar cracking ratereached more than90%depending on the experiment. There was the higher electricenergy’ consumption accompanied the higher gasification temperature of biomass.Ifthe temperature of gasification was fallen to obtain the lower power consumption, thetar yielded was increased and the biomass’ gasification efficiency came down. It wasa mainly restrict to use the gasification technology widely. To make the high gasification efficiency in the lower gasification temperature, adding catalyst had animportant meaning and could perfect to solve this problem.Iron oxide as natural mineral catalysts had a wide source, low price advantage, and had good catalytic activity. This paper mainly investigated the iron oxide used ascatalyst, temperature and other factors on the proportion of gasification experiments, and summed up a set of high efficient, clean coal gasification condition. This paper consisted of five parts: First, the experimental materials and ironoxide were carried out industrial analysis and elemental analysis. Second, theexperimental platform was built, the furnace type to choose under the fixed bedgasifier, the selection of high temperature steam as gasification agent and heat carrier.Third, designed a set of high temperature steam heating system, steam heatingtemperature is up to1000℃to ensure the temperature of gasification. Fourth, designed the gas sample collection system, ensure the test gas sample dataaccuracy.Fifth, the contrast test was carried out under the different temperature, thecatalyst amount and the no catalyst. Through analysis of experimental data the resultwas: that the gas production of1.5kg material had reached970L, and hydrogencontent is up to58.28%when to add15%iron oxide powder, the gasificationtemperature is850℃,the steam flow0.89kg/h.
