With the development of the society, after reformed by technology several times,turbocharged gasoline engine has been widely applied. Based on requirement of thegasoline engine operating characteristics, we hope that different rotational speed and airinflow mass could match perfectly. The variable technology intake is an effective techniquefor this request. Using the one-dimensional simulation software, this paper studies theeffects of variable intake system on the engine performance.The study in this paper is on the basis of the variable intake technology developmentproject for the477engine. Firstly, according to the main parameters of the original engine,a certain gasoline engine model was set up by using1D simulation software BOOST. Afterthen, by changing the length of the intake manifold, the cross section diameter andstabilized cavity volume, we can simulation the various situations of torque, power and fuelconsumption on the engine, so as to select the optimal parameters of the intake structure,and summed up a set of determining petrol engine intake pipe length variable controlstrategy.On the basis of the one-dimensional simulation optimization, we continue to optimizethe research on the intake phase in a turbo charged after cooled gasoline engine. Underdifferent conditions, we analysis and calculates the opening and closing angle of inletvalves. By means of changing the angle, we can control the intake phase to obtain theoptimal values of performance in different speed conditions. Compared with the originalmachine and the engine which only use the variable intake manifold, the performance of theengine which optimized intake phase and the variable intake manifold is improvedsignificantly. The final simulation result shows that the largest increment volumetricefficiency, power, torque of the gasoline engine is respectively9.8%,7.6%and11.7%, andthe specific fuel consumption is also decreased.Finally, the schematic diagram of a mechanism was drawn by the parameters of thetheory simulation results, elaborate the control strategy of variable inlet under differentconditions. Compared with the existing mechanism, we also analysis of its characteristics.
