Frame structure with infill walls has been widely used in building construction because of its flexibility in structural arrangement and facilitation in construction. However, in practical application, the wall is applied to calculating model as a load without considering the synergy between infill walls and frame and then discount the natural cycle of frame system according to the dead weight of the wall. Serious seismic damage of infilled frames in recent earthquake indicates that the dead weight of the wall is applied to calculating model as a load,but the synergy between the infill walls and frame is not reasonable to consider. According to the number of infill walls, the natural cycle of frame system is reduction.Studies have shown that:the infill walls have great effect on frames of its capacity, stiffness and deformation behavior and it is necessary to take the effect of the infill walls on the frames into account, especially when doing seismic designs. With the development of science and technology, not only are traditional clay bricks used in construction as wall materials, but also others.Researches on the infilled wall frame structure have been investigated at home and abroad, but there are still some difficulties on calculation model and methods which need to be solved further. In order to figure out the effect of the filled wall of different material on the frame structure, this paper carries out the following works:(1) With MIDAS GEN analysis software, considering materials of the infill walls, distribution, we build a reasonable model to study the influence of the infill walls in the frame.(2) Based on wall element model, considering the stiffness reduction of the infill walls, we build different infilled walls models with different arrangement and materials, and compare with the standardize method,which the infill walls are considered as load. In the MIDAS GEN,10 kinds of model are built. Model 1 is an empty frame;Model 2(concrete hollow block), Model 3(hollow block), Model 4(clay brick) are three models with different infill materials; ModelⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳare Model1,2,3 when dealt with standard methods. Among them, the infill filling rates are all 30%. Model A(infilled materials in the bottom),B(infilled materials in the middle layers) and Model C(infilled materials at the top of the layer) have been set up by varying the position of infilled materials.(3) The effects which material, form and arrangement method have on natural cycle of structure has been discussed by Modal Analysis of structure model.(4) Adding infill wall structural in architecture, the maximum horizontal displacement and vertical shear force are calculated by Response Spectrum and Time-history Analysis.
