With the rapid development of national economy, high speed and heavy load have become significant topic researches. Moreover, containerized traffic plays an impotant part on it. With the increase of speed of freight train, interaction between train and air fluctuates violently so that a series of aerodynamic problems come out. With the help of computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT, dynamic simulation models of high-speed container flat wagon in open air, under crosswind, passing events and passing through a tunnel have been established. Based on the study of train’s different packing ways, the followings can be obtained.1. When the train is running in open air, the total drag of the train with three container loading is minimum. Besides, skirtboard can reduce the train’s drag.2. When the train is running in crosswind, the aerodynamic performance of the train with three containers is best among different packing ways. In adittion, skirtboard can reduce the train’s drag, but it also has negative effects on trains’side force and overturning moment.3. When the high-speed container flat wagon is passing by a same type train, peak-to-peak value of side force and overturning moment are maximum. Furthermore, skirtboard will increase the middlecar’s pressure, but has no influence on the aerodynamic performance of the container. The aerodynamic performance of the train with three containers is better than others.4. When the high-speed container flat wagon is passing by a general wagon or daycoach, the pressure of former changes more severe than the latter. The amplitude of side fore and overturning moment are lager when the high-speed wagon is passing by the the daycoach.5. When the high-speed container flat wagon is passing through a tunnel, the amplitude of pressure on different types of container is similar. Skirtboard has no influence on peak-to-peak pressure value of the train’s and the wall of tunnel’s monitoring points. The amplitude of pressure satisfies the standard requirement of micro-pressure wave which the value is less than 20Pa.
