More and more higher requirements of marine engine economy and emissions have been put forward with the growing shortage of oil resources and the increasingly stringent emission regulations, which is mainly depended on the whole combustion process in the cylinder. while the combustion process was also constrained and influenced by the parameters of intake system, fuel injection system and chamber profile. In this paper, take the 4190 type diesel engine as the research object and adopt the three-dimensional simulation software FIRE to establish the burning in cylinder simulation model of diesel engine. Mainly by changing the diesel engine combustion related parameters of oil, gas and chamber to study the influence on diesel engine combustion and emissions, and to optimize the combustion system parameters.First of all, use the FIRE software establishing the combustion model with the initial parameters and boundary conditions which were measured by diesel experiment and the results of BOOST model. Then carry on the simulation of high pressure cycle of diesel engine, what’s more, make the simulation results compared with the diesel engine experimental date to verify the accuracy of the simulation model.Secondly, the effect of throat diameter, center-crown height, bowl bottom radius, nozzle diameter, spray timing, spray angle and swirl rate on combustion and emission of the engine are studied based on single parameter rotatary method.Lastly, the combustion system parameters are optimized, then the effects of seven combustion system parameters to the indicated power, NOX emission of the diesel engine are investigated and analyzed based on the Orthogonal Experiment Method. The individual influence coefficient to the indicate power and NOX emission and overall performance of different combustion system parameters are obtained. and the optimized combustion systems to different evaluation objectives of the engine are acquired.
