Pantograph-catenary current-collection system, as an important subsystem of modern high-speed train traction power system, at the same time it is also the source of the power, has became a key technology in the field of modern high-speed EMU. With the increase of the speed, the influence of aerodynamic effect of pantograph for pantograph-catenary current collection is more and more obvious, current-collection quality will directly influence the safety performance of EMU operation, air force for pantograph is proportional to the square of the speed, good mechanics, aerodynamics and control system of pantograph is the basis to ensure good contact of pantograph-catenary. Therefore, taking into account the influence of aerodynamics on pantograph, the optimization of structural and aerodynamic for high-speed pantograph is of great significance to the development.This paper is a study based on high-speed pantograph aerodynamic, flow field around the pantograph is analyzed by fluid mechanics analysis software Fluent, and then using the C language program to establish the pantograph-catenary coupled model, and the effect of pantograph structural parameters for current-collection quality is analyzed.Firstl of all, this paper discusses the basic theoretical knowledge of aerodynamics and flow of movement mechanism, as the basis for the further analysis of of the pantograph air flow, mechanical structure, and the influence aerodynamic characteristics for pantograph catenary current collection.Then, the geometrical model of high-speed pantograph is established by 3D soild modeling software CATIA, building simulation and research by using the fluid dynamics analysis software Fluent. Aerodynamic drag and lift of upper arm, lower arm and the head component has been analyzed under different conditions such as in open and closed running direction, crosswind and without environment wind condition. While building the surrounding air flow field contours, so that the movement of the surrounding air has a more intuitive image. Through the analysis of the mechanical structure, according to the size of the structure, the simulated air lift and drag has been changed into the lift force on the pantograph head. The finite element model for pantograph is built based on Ansys software, the result is verified that the structural strength of high-speed operation meet the strength requirements.Finally, pantograph and catenary dynamics model, pantograph-catenary coupling dynamic model are established. Loading the pantograph aerodynamic lift force, according to the Newmark method and using C programming and simulation, the pantograph-catenary current-collection characteristic is calculated including in pantograph-catenary pressure and contact wire uplift. And then compared with the measured curve of line test, both to meet the international standard EN50367. Based on pantograph-catenary coupling dynamics model that has been established, it is discussed that the change of pantograph structure influences on the pantograph-catenary current-collection quality.In this paper, the analysis of high-speed pantograph aerodynamic flow state and pantograph-catenary coupling dynamic model have a certain significance for the optimization of pantograph aerodynamic and mechanical structure, and the current-collection quality influenced on different structure parameters. At the same time, the influence of automatic dropping valve structure parameters on the protection of the pantograph system is discussed.
