Wind environment affects the microclimate of urban environment, and thus directly affects human’s thermal comfort state and quality of life in urban areas, which is particularly significant in high-density cities. This paper emphasizes on discussing how to evaluate the quality of wind environment in urban areas through urban morphological parameters, and studying the association between the two factors, attempting to improve the wind environment in high-density cities by adjusting morphological parameters of the urban wind environment. Besides, this paper also makes a summary of the specific generation and calculation methods of wind environment’s morphological parameters.This paper takes Dalian, a high-density city, as an example. In the first chapter, under the background of environmental problems such as smog, environmental pollution, and heat island effect brought by China’s high-density urban construction, this paper sorts out the studies in related fields at home and abroad, summarizes the related literature review, and proposes the focuses and significance of the study.Chapter Ⅱ explains both the wind environment and morphological parameters in urban areas. And according to the previous research, the urban morphological parameters have a key influence on the evaluation of wind environment in the city.In chapter Ⅲ, the author chooses Dalian’s high-density areas as the study areas to make a five-day field research, collects the data about the main wind environment and thermal environment, and then records and analyzes the data.In chapter Ⅳ, various software tools such as GIS, Global Mapper, CAD, GoogleEarth, Rhino, and Grasshopper are applied together with field measurement, to make an integration of the data on buildings, terrain, and materials of the earth’s surface, thus establishing the urban information database of Xinghai Bay area. Analyzes the urban modeling technology under the complex terrain, and briefly introduces the modeling ideas of Xinghai Bay area.Chapter Ⅴ makes a specific calculation of the urban morphological parameters including windward density, city roughness, building density, floor area ratio, and green and water coverage, and also summarizes the generation methods of urban morphological parameters.In chapter Ⅵ, based on the 3D model completed in the fourth chapter, and taking the measured data obtained in the third chapter as a boundary condition, this paper uses Phoenics to finish the computer simulation, obtaining the viewpoints before the results are verified.Chapter Ⅶ, from the three aspects of urban planning, urban design and architectural design, proposes the optimizing strategies for urban ventilation. Besides, taking the urban morphological parameters and wind speed ratio obtained by the simulation as variables, this paper uses SPSS to make regression analysis, trying to find the linear relationship between urban morphological parameters and ventilation effectiveness.Chapter Ⅷ reviews the achievement and deficiency in the process of study in this paper, thus to draw a conclusion, and gives prospect to the other possibilities and application foreground of the study.
