China has entered the aging society since 2000, and the aging population has been increasing in recent years. It is predicted that by 2050 there is a senior citizen aged sixty out of average three Chinese. China’s aging population problem has been so severe, and their health status is also worrying. High blood pressure, diabetes and other chronic diseases constitute a major threat to the elderly health, so how to effectively monitor their health condition becomes the main subject of medical circle. Cumbersome process of seeing a doctor, the lengthy wait to register with a doctor, as well as the helpless of lonely old man, all of these make the traditional medical pattern unsatisfied to the elderly, and then home health products emerge at this particular moment. However, household medical products in domestic market still stay on the phase of imitating each other, resulting in the similar appearance and function, yet the price differs from each other. The shortage of innovation is not conducive to the healthy development of medical devices. In addition, the traditional home medical products involves poor human-computer interaction, whose process is too complicated to operate; And emerging intelligent household medical products need to be connected to mobile phone APP, which are not suitable for the elderly people to use because of their declining of cognitive competence and learning capacity .However, interactive design has properties such as shortened product learning cycle, lowering the users’ memory burden, reducing product complexity. The utility of interactive design can be applied to alleviate the temporary shortage of existing home medical products. From the perspective of interaction design, this paper employs the user-centered method by asking the target users over the age of 60 to fill in questionnaires and interviews. The purpose is to grasp a comprehensive understanding of the objective demand of old people by analyzing their physiological characteristics and mental model. After the full understanding of the relevant principles and basic methods of interaction design, the interaction design process of five stages is proposed:namely, demand analysis, concept design, prototype design, evaluation based on the prototype and scheme confirmation, and each application step of the design method is listed. This thesis finally concentrate on all-in-one machine of blood pressure and blood sugar, and the existing glucose meter and pressure monitor are analyzed respectively from the perspective of man-machine interface and product design, and their improvement scheme are presented in this paper.
