In recent years, due to the frequent earthquakes, let us had a better understanding to structure stress performance under earthquake,especially bridge structure as the lifeline engineering. The damage situation of bridge structures under earthquake is directly related to the earthquake relief channels and transport relief supplies; Once the bridge structure impassable will give people’s life and property losses. So ti is necessary to analyse the damage of concrete bridges. This paper introduces the basic theory of seismic response analysis and damage theory, to a multi-span continuous rigid frame bridge as the engineering background, Include elastic-plastic time history analysis and damage analysis, the main contents include:(1) This paper discusses the seismic analysis method of continuous rigid frame bridge and the status quo. Introducing damage phenomenon and damage mechanism of concrete material under earthquake, discussing the present research status of concrete damage, summarizing four kinds of practical damage model.(2) Made on the dynamic damage theory in detail:damage variable、theoretical basis of dynamic damage constitutive model、dynamic damage constitutive、damage damping matrix, etc.(3) Established a dynamic characteristics model of continuous rigid frame bridge dynamic by MIDAS CIVIL2012 and analyzed its dynamic characteristics, acpuired period, frequency and mode shapes of the first 20 order, supported subsequent dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis.(4) Established a Elastic-plastic dynamic analysis model of continuous rigid frame bridge dynamic by MIDAS CIVIL2012 and calculated its displacement、internal force under earthquake of 0.5g peak acceleration. Acpuired force、displacement of elastic stage and plastic stage. Determine the location and time of the bridge first entered the stage of plastic, the seismic acceleration peak value and the position of the damage occurred first, time, seismic peak acceleration. The purpose is to contrast with damage analysis.(5) Put forward the concrete damage parameters formula of elastic and plastic phase by analysing experimental data of peer database. Established finite element model of the piers by ABAQUS6.12. By calling the subroutine UMAT on Pier 8 do damage analysis, got force, displacement of 8# pie. By comparison results of elastic-plastic time history damage and damage damage, found that results of the displacement and internal force of two methods of analysis are within 10%. Description of the damage parameter formula can provide a reference for future calculation of reinforced concrete pier damage.
