In recent years due to the development of China’s remote mountainous areas, we built a lot of high pier continuous rigid frame bridge. The height of these rigid frame bridge varies, ranging from tens of meters to more than nearly two hundred meters. It is because of the prosperous development of the rigid frame bridge, a lot of scholars start to research this type bridge,But studies about the height of pier and the matching of the cross-section form is less. For this reason, research in this paper is based on the real tengineering background of a ultra-high pier continuous rigid frame bridge which is on the county of Hezhang in Guizhou province, and take a analysis on what the impact do the Pier height and cross section form to the continuous rigid frame bridge. The main contents are as follows:(1)Firstly,I have established two rigid frame bridge model by the finite element software Midas Civil.Ultra pier computing model is the real bridge HeZhang Bridge.Conventional computing model is the model which use 80 meters high pier instead of the main pier real bridge pier model. After that, comparing the stress and moment of the two systems by car loads, temperature loads and shrinkage-creep loads, and draw some conclusions.(2)For pier height of 195 meters of the main pier,I have proposed two section form:prismatic double limb thin pier and pier tapered single box three rooms. Both in terms of the same amount of material, also approximately equal to the bending stiffness. Then i have taken a buckling analysis which is respectively from the bare pier state, the largest cantilever state and the completed bridge state to comparative analysis. And get which section of the form to arrive at a more reasonable in terms of stability.By studying these two aspects, we can be better understanding of the different mechanical properties of the different height rigid frame bridge, and the difference about stability of single limb and double limb piers. We can be better understanding of rigid frame bridge with the theoretical data.
