Optically Stimulated Luminescence(OSL), was put forward for the first time since mid twentieth Century, was widely used in geological and archaeological dating. With the development of study in OSL materials and techniques, in 1997, OSL dose measurement system by Landauer, was officially put into commercial maturity. In early twenty-first Century, OSL technology is gradually replacing the traditional thermoluminescence (TL) technology, and is widely used in personal dosimetry, environmental dosimetry, space dosimetry, medical dosimetry, neutron dosimetry, accident dosimetry, archaeological dating and other fields. OSL technical supports and system services, which are mainly provided by the international mainstream Landauer of America and Riso of Danish two, are expensive and monopoly. This paper is based on the related issues of radiation protection and dose monitoring team of Institute of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry,Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics. Starting from the principle of OSL, to study the OSL techniques in dose measurement, experimental system is built and tested, and the background, linearity response of y dose, the minimum detectable dose (MDD) are acquired, thus to master the OSL techniques. This paper first describes the background and significance, research status at home and abroad, and summarizes the main contents of this paper. Starting from the principle of OSL, materials, techniques, mathematical models and MDD theory, the key techniques of excitation progress and fluorescence detection of OSL system, has carried on the thorough analysis, and put forward the design scheme of the system.Discusses the selection of the device and the matters needing attention of the design, focus on the excitation light source, optical filter and fluorescence detection work, finally the dose detection system was built successfully and a preliminary experiment was conducted.Single dose tablets by Landauer were employed for Plan1(383nm-488nm) and Plan2(321.8nm-460nm) preliminary test of the system, in terms of background evaluation, dose linearity response and minimum detectable dose based on CW-OSL model. The system showed good linearity in the range of 1mGy to 100mGy; the background of Planl was 1358cps, and the MDD was 0.91μGy(the integration time is 20s); so as to Plan2,was 153cps and 1.090μGy. Then, the impact of MDD parameters were analyzed, and the integration time relationship with MDD had been discussed.
