With the development of social economy, the car in the rapid development of the human society has more and more important position. This convenient means of transport bring convenience to mankind at the same time, also bring a series of problems, such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution and traffic accidents. The solution of the problem of traffic congestion not only need to increase the road infrastructure, also need to study of the internal rules of traffic system, using scientific theory to guide the management and construction of transport system. Traffic flow theory is to explain the traffic phenomenon, analyse the traffic problems and guide the traffic management theory, but it can effectively guide the solution of the problem of traffic congestion. In this paper, basing on cellular automata theory, through the establishment of traffic model analysis of the relationship between the variables in traffic flow, so as to reveal the internal transport system works. it not only has theoretical significance, but also has important practical significance. The main work of this paper:①introduction. This chapter starts from the analysis of the real transportation development that traffic congestion, traffic accidents and environmental pollution problems and the application of the theory of traffic flow in traffic management to expound the background of thesis research. Secondiy, This paper analyzed the research status of traffic flow cellular automata from the aspects of both domestic and overseas. Thirdiy, it shows the significance the paper research. In the end, it lists the main research results of this paper.②basic theory part. In this chapter it introduced he theory of traffic flow variables and their measurement methods, and introduced he theory of traffic flow in discovery and research of some traffic phenomena and characteristics, at the end of the paper it put forward the important microscopic model of cellular automata model in the research of traffic flow theory.③This chapter mainly studies the brake light rule of cellular automata theory. Firstly it introduces the basic model of brake lights CD model, based on this model, on the basis of the MCD model, puts forward the improved brake light model, improved brake light model to study the deterministic deceleration influence on stochastic slowing down, and change the random vehicle moderated probability calculation methods and rules of acceleration of the vehicle. Through basic figure and space-time diagram found that rebuilding the brake light model can more fit realistic driver’s behavior, and can effectively simulate the complicated traffic for popular.④this chapter is mainly signal under the control of cellular automata model. This chapter is an important part of the thesis, Firstly it analyzed the NS model, the improved NS model exist deficiencies, then make further improvement, increased considering the running state of cellular automata model, And on the basis of the model it insered the cellular automata model of brake light effect, the two models, the combination of signal intersection of cellular automata model is established. It analyzes the inherent law among the traffic density, vehicle average queue length, the green light time and the average speed of vehicles,it provides a new research direction. to signal intersection traffic signal timing strategies research.
