Along with the cross-regional interconnection of power system, the scale of gird is lager, and the structure is becoming more complex. When disturbance occurs in the grid and spreads widely, a variety of information sources, such as Wide-Area Measurement System, SCADA System, and Fault Information System will produce vast amounts of data in real time. Dynamic data collected during the disturbance could use for online monitoring and the disturbance analysis, accident inversion and trace laid, so as to provide the basis for improving the grid operation mode. Therefor the grid disturbance detection and information modeling and maintenance work in this context are necessary.In this paper, the detection of power system disturbances is studied, in which synchronous pharos measurement of power system and dispatching remote alarm information are used as information sources. This paper describes the construction method of power system transient energy, and derives the mutation of transient potential energy of power system when it receives disturbances by using relevant definitions of transient energy and third-order model of the generator, and the transient energy of system satisfies the conservation at the same time. The transmission of transient energy in lines reflects the exchange of transient energy in the system, and it is better to reflecting the exchange than the stable change of transient energy after the disturbance occurs which is inferred by simulation and measured data, which could be calculated based on synchronous pharos measurement of power system.To improve the efficiency of detection, this paper studies detection method based on the network transmission of power system transient energy, using the normalized kurtosis rapid positioning disturbance signal, then use the EEMD modern signal processing methods to extract the disturbance moment. This method can handle the multichannel data at the same time, and search system disturbance events from the wide-area measurement system database quickly and efficiently.For grasping the overall transient response of power system and detecting outliers requiring further attention and studied further, this paper illustrates a clustering based method without using system model for pre-processing transient signals.Using remote communication alarm information, this paper presents an event detection method, which including constructing general model of grid topology and protection configuration using object-oriented technology, automatic generation of movement rule tree, remote communication information parsing. This method is effective, applied to TBKB algorithm. Finally, this paper designed and developed the disturbance event detection software.
