High density operation of electrified railway to promote the development of economy, a reasonable maintenance plan of railway traction power supply system is an important guarantee for electrified railway operation stablely. Once the traction power supply system is failed, cannot supply power to railway locomotives, security risks such as traffic accidents, property loss will exist. Therefore, how to judge the safety degree of the traction power supply system and make a maintenance strategy is an important subject. This paper mainly studies the reliability of the main part of the traction power supply system——traction substation and catenaries. And a preventive repair scheme for the 11 kinds of equipments separately is established.First of all, it is to evaluate the level of the traction power supply system operation safely. The traction power supply system is divided into two systems. One system are traction substation, the other system are catenaries. According to the structure and the operation mode of traction substation or catenaries, on the basis of reliability theory, the reliability model of substation traction or catenaries is builded separately. Traction substation is a large and complex system, mainly includeling the qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on the fault tree analysis method, qualitative analysis can determine weak equipment in the system. By the GO method, quantitative analysis can get reliability probability of the system. The equipments in catenaries are connected in a serial way, so the reliability research is focused on quantitative analysis. The reliability probability formula of catenaries can be deduced through GO method.Secondly, the optimal maintenance model of traction substation or catenaries is established separately. The constraint is traction substation or catenaries meet the requirements. The objective function is the total costs of preventive maintenance, replacement maintenance, the minimal maintenance after a failure and the loss of preventive maintenance.Finally, the invasive weed optimization algorithm is applied to solve the optimization model. And simulation and analysis are carried out. The invasive weed optimization algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm results are compared. The example results verify the model established in this paper and the IWO algorithm are feasible and effect. This method provides a new model for the repair scheme of traction power supply system. It has a certain reference.
