As the greenhouse effect on the global influence of the increase gradually, the pursuit of sustainable way of low carbon economy development become a consensus of all countries,countries in the world the study of low carbon from the qualitative theory research level gradually turned to quantitative research, evaluation and mitigation measures level with carbon footprint verification for the quantitative evaluation method is widely used. Due to construction in the running process of carbon footprint has higher proportion in total, in order to reduce the greenhouse effect of the resulting in this type of research at home and abroad are also increasingly rich. But through the literature research, found that at present, a lot of such studies from organization management, energy-saving promotion and equipment update,ignored the point of view of architecture design. In the operation and construction of larger carbon footprint, and its early design has certain correlation, therefore, from the building is built, before use, first considered in building design stage for carbon reduction, will benefit from the source control carbon footprint, reducing the long-term effect of greenhouse gases.Based on the building of Beijing university as the research object, through the energy agency field visit to the school and the teachers and students’ questionnaires about campus energy, resource consumption and personal daily consumption data, and the calculation analysis, study the main influencing factors of carbon emissions in colleges and universities in Beijing. Came to the campus operations and personal consumption, total carbon footprint and all kinds of carbon footprint in the proportion of total, on this basis, in the perspective of carbon footprint, through computer simulation analysis to explore the architectural design strategies to reduce emissions.Results show: the building of Beijing university west campus main influence factors of carbon emissions for the campus the indirect emissions of electricity and winter heating,respectively accounted for 45% of carbon footprint on campus, in addition to personal traffic caused by the carbon footprint of consumer about thirty percent of the carbon footprint. In site selection, site design, monomer design, appropriate technologies, landscape design, and other aspects to improve the micro climate of the campus, adjust the indoor and outdoor wind environment, light environment, improving heat preservation performance of building surrounding structure at the same time, by adopting the strategy of new energy technology,can reduce carbon emissions.Keywords: carbonfootprint,low carbon campus,architectural design.
