Pumped-storage power station is a ideal adjustment manner in electric power system. This kind of power station is important to ensure the safety of power grid operation and reliable power supply. The construction of pumped-storage power station has been a new upsurge in China. On the other side, the leakage of reservoir basin is one of the most focused issues in dam construction engineering. It not only affect the economic efficiency of hydraulic engineering but also the operation security. Groundwater of many hydraulic engineering exists in fractured medium and its seepage law is quietly different from pore medium. It increases the risk and treatment difficulty of leakage disaster. More attention should be paid to the leakage disaster at stations which had preliminary show leakage phenomenon. From the above, it’s of great significance to determine the leakage source and seepage channel and dispose it scientifically and effectively.The leakage of fractured rock at Taishan pumped-storage power station’s upper reservoir and its treatment is studied in accordance of mixed seepage theory and using numerical multiphysics analysis platform. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:1. The engineering geology and hydrogeology conditions of survey region are analyzed. The structure distribution and groundwater’s recharge and runoff and discharge are confirmed. The foundation of fractured mass seepage model is laid.2. The fractured mass seepage model of upper reservoir is built using FEM numerical platform. The seepage law of fractured rock at different conditions of broken position and area of seepage control facility is obtained.3. By calculating the leakage rate at right bank and bottom reservoir and back of dam and comparing with monitoring data, the position and area of inefficiency are determined4. The treatment measures of fractured rock leakage at upper reservoir proposed by summarizing the experience of hydraulic engineering’s leakage management and combining the project practice.
