The development of society and the progress of science and technology greatly enhanced the level of human life, but also lead to humans need energy more and more. Lithium ion battery, as a new kind of green energy, has been paid more and more attention in recent years. In addition to the green environmental protection, lithium-ion battery also has the advantages of large energy density, long service life and so on. However, lithium ion battery also has many shortcomings. When lithium ion battery has been over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature or other dangerous phenomenon, if the user can’t timely do protective measures, it will greatly shorten the life of lithium ion batteries, even may cause explosion danger. Therefore, the effective management of the lithium ion battery determines whether humans can use lithium ion battery with a wide range.Because of the lithium ion battery voltage is not high, so the people use it in series generally. In order to effectively manage the lithium-ion batteries, this paper designed a kind of lithium ion batteries management system. In addition to do analysis of the current situation about the research and development of the lithium ion batteries management system at homeland and abroad, the paper also introduced the hardware module and software implementation about the lithium ion batteries management system, such as the voltage acquisition module, the current acquisition module, the short circuit protection module, the balanced management module, etc. at the same time the paper introduced the signal communication between the various modules.In the hardware of lithium ion batteries management system, the paper introduced the power supply circuit, the main circuit, the 16 battery selection circuit, the voltage acquisition circuit, the current acquisition circuit, the short circuit protection circuit, the temperature acquisition circuit and the balanced management circuit. At the same time, this paper discussed the design method of the voltage acquisition circuit and the balanced management circuit.To the software, the Paper focuses on the introduction of the design of the software process. Including the overall design process of system, current signal processing software process, voltage signal processing software process and the residual capacity calculation software process, And introduced the PC communication interface based on c#.Finally, the paper analyzed the experimental data of the lithium ion batteries management system, and discussed the calculation method of the battery capacity. The experimental result showed that the lithium ion batteries management system is reliable; the software program is correct and can operate stability.
