Solar chimney power plant with double collectors is proposed by combined solar chimney power plant and greenhouse in this paper. By means of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, we investigate the heat transfer and flow characteristics of the system, also analyze parameters of the system output and proceed a series of comparison analysis. The main contents of this paper included:Analysis on the whole thermodynamic cycle and different field of the solar chimney power plant with double collectors. The expression of the system theory output is deduced, and pointed out some parameters that affect the system power output; Besides that, thermal balance relationship of the double collectors are also deduced.The numerical simulation of the solar chimney power plant with double collectors is researched by Fluent. Computed system output power by changing the space of between main collector and secondary collector, the height of the secondary collector inlet, the height of the secondary collector outlet and analyzed the major three parameters how to effect the system output; Obtained and discussed the velocity field, pressure field, temperature field distribution of the solar chimney power plant with double collectors; Compared the flow field distribution of single collector and double collectors; Analyzed the system power output of summer model and winter model, pointed out the flow field distribution difference of two models; Simulated the ventilation effect of the summer model and the heat preservation of winter model. Some conclusions are as follows:When the overall solar radiation intensity, collectors area, collector radius, chimney height and chimney diameter are kept constant at constant. System power output increases firstly then decreases with three parameters increases that the space between main collector and secondary collector, the height of secondary collector inlet, the height of secondary collector outlet and exist a optimal value; Under the same model size, the heat-collecting efficiency of double collectors is higher than single collector, and the system power output is also higher than single collector; The system power output of summer model is greater higher than winter model. The ventilation effect of summer model is better than traditional greenhouses obviously and the heat preservationdouble of double collectors is also improved.A small experimental device is built in our laboratory. We measured the system maximum velocity once an hour a day. At the same time, CFD is used to simulate the same conditions. Measurement data and simulation results are compared. As a whole, the simulation results show a good agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, the numerical predictions are accurate and reliable.
