Identification of tire cornering properties is the base of vehicle dynamics stability control, however, tire deflection angle estimation accuracy based on dynamic model goes worse because of the effects of lateral steering and deformation of turn under the extreme conditions. This article presents a test method under the extreme conditons for observation tire deflection angle based on direct measurement of steering wheel angle of vision and body posture.The main research and design work in this paper is as following:(1) Starting from the definition of sideslip tires, study extreme condition tires sideslip test principle and build a vehicle testing systems based on high-precision positioning with differential GPS devices and real-time image processor CVS 1456.(2) Based on the fitting test of vehicle transmission ratio of steering system, contrast imaging method and indirect method gets the steering wheel angle of steering wheel angle, through the small lateral acceleration test indicate that basded on images to get steering wheel turning table of reliability and feasibility.(3) Complete yawrate, lateral acceleration information for an initial bias calibration test, which come from chassis control unit.(4) In preliminary testing on the basis of the completed vehicle road test and data processing and analysis, test shows that the proposed method is effective and feasible.
