When subjected to earthquake, the response of the high-rise buildings increases with increasing height. In order to research the equipment safety and human comfort when the building is not damaged, shaking table test is the most direct and accurate method. But limit by the size and maximum carrying capacity of the shaking table, usually only do some small-scale model tests, size effect will seriously affect the authenticity of the test results. The substructure test can solve the maximum carrying capacity of the shaking table restrictions on the specimen size, however, put a higher demand on the maximum acceleration of the shaking table. Specifically, when research the response of the upper floors, the substructure test need to applied maximum acceleration exceeds the maximum acceleration of the shaking table. In order to solve the above problems, this paper on the basis of the substructure shaking table test, through introduce rubber -mass system to amplify ground motion, study on the method of substructure shaking table testing with rubber-mass system. Details are as follows:(1) Elaborated the development and application of the shaking table, summarized the substructure shaking table testing method and introduced the research status of substructure shaking table testing method.(2) Elaborated the amplification principle of the rubber-mass system and the method of transfer function, and through a numerical example to verify the accuracy of the transfer function.(3) Using SAP2000 finite element software to establish a 20-story structure and top 2-layer as the substructure with rubber-mass system, combined with the transfer function method, adopt 3 seismic waves, verified the accuracy of the method of substructure shaking table testing with rubber-mass system.(4) Based on the existing WS-Z30-40 small shaking table, do the research of the 6-story and 2-story with rubber-mass system, research the amplification of the rubber-mass system, and verified the practicability of the method of substructure shaking table testing with rubber-mass system.The method of substructure shaking table testing with rubber-mass system can make up the size and maximum carrying capacity restrictions to the specimen size, and the maximum acceleration of the shaking table. It’s a good method for research structure under high acceleration and can promote the development of the substructure shaking table test.
