Microgrid is a novel paradigm of organizing and employing Distributed Energy Resources proposed by CERTS (Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions). It can work in parallel with Utility Grid, or automatically in an islanding mode. The latter which provides Local Critical Loads with energy improves the utility efficiency substantially. Superior structures and controlling methods of Microgrid allows Distributed Energy Resources to connect to the network, thus avoiding negative impacts on the Utility Grid. This property makes it possible to employ large-scale Renewable Distributed Energy Resources. It is assumed that PV-supplied Microgrid would become one of the most important energy sources in the future. Since its proposal, the commercial use of Microgrid on large scale remains to be problematic despite of noticeable achievements including several pilot plants. Further exploration and improvement of synchroni-zation methods of Islanded Microgrid are of great significance. This research aims to give two synchronization methods of Islanded Microgrid based on Non-linear Dynamical Theory and Control of Chaos. The main contribution is summarized as follows.(1) Firstly, the properties of non-linear dynamics and parallel connection of PV-supplied Microgrid source are analyzed based on the examination of the PV-supplied Micro Source cir-cuits.(2) Based on the synchronization mechanism of unilateral chaos coupling, the drive-responded synchronization methods of Islanded PV-supplied Microgrid for master-slave configuration are proposed, and the impact of selected variables on their performance is also il-lustrated.(3) Accordingly, the stability of the methods mentioned is proved theoretically in reference to the Stability Theory by Lyapunov.(4) Besides, the coupled synchronization methods of Islanded PV-supplied Microgrid for peer to peer configuration are given based on the synchronization mechanism of mutual chaos coupling. Then the impact of parameters of coupled network on their performance is specified.(5)Finally, the numerical simulation of the synchronization methods is conducted, whose results suggest that the expected stability of the two methods is achieved.
