The Design And Realization Of License Plate Recogn Ition System In Bus Lane

With the acceleration of China’s rapid economic development and urbanization, urban traffic congestion has become an acute problem,which highlights the role of public transport on alleviating transport pressures.Bus lanes are exclusively for public transportation vehicles,and non-buses are prohibited within the time specified.But in case of traffic congestion,non-buses always seize the bus lanes,impeding the normal operation of the bus,which makes the heavy traffic congestion heavier.To this end, the traffic management departments will occupy non-buses’ bus lane fines,but in the process of law enforcement,because non-buses’ cards are hard to accurately record,it is common for a large number of illegally parked cars to escape punishment.For better identification of vehicles’ license plate number,preventing non-buses from using bus lanes,improving the efficiency of bus operation,this thesis designs vehicle license plate recognition system in bus lanes.On the design of vehicle license plate recognition system in bus lanes,this thesis’ thinking is the following:import video from the vehicle recorder in the bus,and then capture non-buses’ pictures.It is possible,because the license plates of the non-buses which are in front of buses in the bus lanes can be recorded by buses.The non-buses’ license plates are recognized,and the information is stored in the database,and finally the information is handed to the traffic management departments.Then the traffic management departments punish the non-buses in the bus lanes according to law.The design of vehicle license plate recognition system in bus lanes is mainly composed of four parts,namely login system, account management,opening videos, license plate recognition.The key is in the license plate recognition part,which includes opening an image,image binarization,character segmentation and character recognition.The algorithms involved are C++ programming language,and we uses Open CV to achieve the goal.Open CV library’s usage has brought many benefits, including making the procedure simpler and cleaner,more reliable and more accurate.
