This paper introduced a new method to achieve the adaptive incremental updating for map data by aggregating car navigation users’vehicle trajectory feedback for data mining and results analyzing. The current incremental updating is based on the data content but lack of consideration for customers’ real needs, so it cannot be used very well. Nowadays navigation system with electronic map data is required to be more accurate, a practical solution to achieve incremental updating is needed. Therefore, this paper will provide a good reliable method in incremental updating for car navigation map data.In period of the study, first is analyzing the car users’particular circumstances to collect users’trajectory data and obtain their activity areas. In fact, most users are using a small local area digital map only, which means if map data of these common areas is updated and latest, the whole map will be thought as latest. Thus, the activity areas which are obtained by analyzing the users’trajectory data are the key to achieve adaptive incremental updating. Secondly considering this kind of partly update, divided grid blocks are used for updating the smallest unit to achieve the adaptive incremental update program. The personalized incremental update package is extracted from the original update package based on the user’s individual data. Finally it passed the test that is updating different data packages on navigation system successfully.
