with the rapid development of economy,the garbage of waste glass is increasing,most are for landfill disposal in addition to a part recycled back into glass, having a serious pollution to the ecological environment.It is becomed a major concern to mix the waste glass powder into the mixture of cement and apply to the building.Not only save the limited building materials,but also offer a new way for using the waste glass in line with the national policy for energy conservation and emissions reduction,when mix the waste glass powder into the mixture of cement.The traditional research of waste glass powder mainly focus on the fineness aspect, and the fineness characteristics of content includes the specific surface area,average particle size,particle size and particle size distribution, etc. Waste glass powder is a kind of artificial particles with the characteristics of high specific surface area and polydispersity. The granularity of fineness of characterization is the particle characterization, which using the group of waste glass powder to show the overall concept of particle size. However, with the further research a certain particle size and specific surface area can not reflect the reality grading distribution and fineness characteristics of the waste glass powder and the correlation with its activity can prove imprecise,but using fractal theory can overcome this weakness.Different fractal dimension of waste glass powder with different fineness modulus and activity index.The mesoscopic and microscopic quantitative index of waste glass powder with different grinding time expressed by fractal dimension can be linked with the activity of waste glass powder index accurately,which can interpret the performance of the waste glass powder from a new perspective. This method have positive significance on waste glass powder used in the building materials.In this paper,we will put the waste glass powder as supplementary cement materials into the mixture of cement and study the properties of the mixture for applying theory to practice.To study the fluidity and the strength of cement mortar with different particle size of waste glass powder, grinding and screening the colorless waste glasses to 38-53,53-75,75-150,150-300,300-600μm, and as supplementary cement materials replacing the cement of cement mortar at 5,10,15,20,25,30%, respectively.Meanwhile divide theexperiment into two parts:containing water reducer or not and add fly ash,silica fume as comparison at the same time, measuring the fluidity and the flexural and compressive strength of cement mortar for 28 days. It is concluded that when the content of waste glass powder less than 75μm is in the range of 10 to 15%, can increase the fluidity of cement mortar;the flexural and compressive strength of cement mortar are decreased when mix with water reducer with maintaining the dosage of water;The optimum size and amount of waste glass powder in the cement mortar keep the same whether it is mixed water reducer or not; The flexural and compressive strength for 28 days of the cement mortar reach the best value and differ with the baseline group very few whether it’s mixed water reducer or not.
