Red-stone soil is quit common in China, which is usually used as the foundation soil. Taking the red-stone soil of Gannan(south of Jiangxi Province)as an example, this paper adopts the converted compaction test apparatus to manually operate the indoor shock test and explores the effects of actions of red-stone soil under the impact load; comparing with the density-energy curve concluded under the static load pressure, it studies the energy consumption and transfer law under the single and double impact load, and then gets the following conclusion:(1)Increase of the land’s final settlement is mainly caused by the number of impact in the first half part. The accumulated settlement of the number of impact in the first half part occupies more than 80% of the final settlement.(2)The first impact load produces the most settlement of soil, which occupies30% to 45% of the final settlement. Subsequently, the settlement caused by every single impact will slowly decline. Under two-point impact load with different total energy, the previous impact point and later point have the similar settlement law.Internal displacement change of the left soil is similar to that of the right soil.(3)Under the impact load of two points, within a certain range, the total impact energy is in direct proportion to the difference between the final accumulated settlement of the previous impact point and the later impact point. The energy absorbed by the soil increase with the increase of single impact energy, either vertically or horizontally. With the increase of single impact energy, the energy transferred in vertical and horizontal directions increase.(4)Compared to the single high settling distance, the soil absorbs more energy in two-point low settling distance and wastes less energy, thus the use efficiency of energy is much higher, with a better strengthening effect. Results have certain theoretical and practical significance for impact load to strengthen the design and construction of red-stone soil foundation, which have certain reference value for impact load to strengthen the similar rock-soil foundation.
