As an important research direction of simulation technology, the 3D scene simulation is widely used in military and civil fields, such as performance evaluation of photoelectric imaging systems, military simulation training, design and development of weapons. With the development of technology and improvement of application demand, more fidelity and authenticity are required of the 3D scene simulation when it is applied in engineering.According to the requirements of performance evaluation of airborne electro-optical stabilized sighting systems, the simulation technology of dynamic entire imaging chains was studied in this thesis based on the process of signal transmission and the idea of end-to-end simulation. Therefore, the airborne electro-optical stabilized sighting simulation system was completed and the main contributions are as follows:1. The modeling method of electro-optical stabilized sighting system has been completed. According to simulation requirement, and with an airborne two axis stabilized sighting system as the simulation prototype, the thesis constructed the servo control simulation module using digital simulation technology. The module can effectively simulate the working process of the electro-optical stabilized sighting system and output results according with the theory, thus providing effective support for engineering practice.2. The dynamic simulation technology of panchromatic/multispectral scenes has been studied. On the basis of the actual physical imaging process, panchromatic/ multispectral scene simulation scheme was designed. After searching for the spectral data and making the render textures, the scene rendering was finally completed by using the simulation platform. Comparing the simulation images and the actual images, the simulation approach and simulation data were proved to be applicable and accurate as the errors were within the acceptable ranges.3. The simulation of vehicle’s motion has been investigated. According to the actual vehicle’s trajectory, several typical motion modes were devised and mathematical motion model was established. With random vibration and render engine controlling vehicle’s motion, the simulated effect of vehicle’s motion was successfully achieved.4. The simulation technology scheme of dynamic entire image chains has been designed. Based on virtual reality technology, all links of entire imaging chains were modeled. With 3D graphics rendering engine OGRE, the system loaded simulation models and realized dynamic airborne imaging system simulation. And simulation image data and platform attitude data could be output in real time, which allowed operators to control the simulation process in real time, making the simulation system more practical. The simulation results could be used to evaluate the performance of electro-optical stabilized sighting system.
