In view of the issue that the underconsolidated soil such as tidal flat soil performance badly under static load and the long-term cyclic loading,several sets of tests were performed on the Wenzhou clay in the paper based on the carefully studying of the test methods and research achievements of saturated clay’s properties at home and abroad. The test mainly include the undrained shear tests under different consolidation confining pressure and the cyclic triaxial tests on clay of different degree of consolidation under different cyclic loading. Preliminary static and dynamic properties of soil samples are got and compared with the existing research achievements based on the tests’ data. Further properties are got by using the related theoretical formula to analysis the tests’ data. The main working of this paper is as follow.(1) The experimental studying status of static and dynamic properties and settling properties of domestic and foreign scholars are summary introduced. This studying status provide the reference and direction of the test research of the underconsolidated clay static and dynamic properties.(2) The reasons why the test instruments and soil sample selected are explained. Some experiments were made to test the sample’s basic physical and mechanical parameters such as the compression test. The test design scheme and how to implement the different degree of consolidation based on the index of dissipation of pore pressure.(3) The static characteristic such as shear strength and normalized properties of underconsolidated clay is researched by doing undrained triaxial shear tests. The characteristic is compared with that of normally consolidated soils’.(4) The underconsolidated clay of different degree of consolidation’s straindevelopment law,pore pressure development law,modulus development law,cumulative deformation characteristics and the fitting model, dynamic pore pressure characteristics,damage criteria and dynamic strength properties are researched by dynamic triaxial tests under cyclic loading.
