With the rapid development of high-speed railway, the train’s running speed has been accelerated, and the complexity of traction power supply system is also increasing, hence the great attention has been paid to the reliability and safe operation of high-speed traction power supply system. However, the reliability analysis of the whole high-speed railway traction power supply system is still on the early stage at home and abroad. Therefore, it is of great necessity to lucubrate the research further in this field and to raise the reliability of the whole high-speed railway traction power supply system.Based on the system reliability engineering theory, a comprehensive reliability methodology call as goal oriented-FLOW(GO-FLOW) is applied in the reliability analysis and calculation of the whole high-speed traction power supply system in the thesis. Firstly, this thesis introduces the basic principles of the GO-FLOW methodology and the general steps of analyzing the system reliability by application of this methodology. Secondly, the basic framework for reliability analysis of the whole system is divided into three relatively independent hierarchies according to their functions, roles and the relationships. Then, GO-FLOW methodology is applied in reliability analysis and calculation of a main electrical connection for the high-speed railway traction substation with considering the component failure and shutdown correlation of electrical equipments in substation. Thirdly, based on the GO-FLOW methodology and logic block diagram method, the reliability analysis and calculation of the overhead contact system(OCS) of high-speed railway are completed, and the some relevant reliability indicators on both steady state and dynamic state are obtained with a comparison of the calculation results between the GO-FLOW analysis and a traditional goal-oriented analysis. Finally, GO-FLOW methodology is applied in modeling for the whole system under the two different modes of normal feeding and over-zone feeding, and the reliability assessment of the whole system is achieved under the two different operation states led to by the two different feeding modes above, and the weak links which affects feeding reliability of the two subsystems called as traction substation and OCS are determined.Reliability analysis and calculation for the whole system indicate that the reliability assessment is valid and applicable with the calculation results are conform to the actual situation, and the calculation by GO-FLOW methodology is much more simple and effective than the traditional goal-oriented analysis method. Meanwhile, GO-FLOW methodology is effective for analyzing the reliability of multi-sequential or multi-state dynamic system.
