After the Kobe earthquake in 1995, it is the first time for Japan to add the checking calculation content of residual displacement to the bridge seismic specification. After ten years, the researcher obtained some achievements about calculation and control methods for residual displacement of reinforced concrete piers, but the calculation accuracy of residual displacement is much lower than maximum displacement at pier’s top. To understand the relationship between maximum displacement and residual displacement of RC Piers. Residual displacement of RC piers under pseudo-static and earthquake were analyzed, the main contents of this thesis are summarized as follows:(1) Based on comprehensive reading of related literatures home and abroad, factors that affect the residual displacement, calculation method and control methods were reviewed and concluded.(2) The calculation model of RC pier was established using the OpenSees, were by the accuracy and reliability of numerical simulation were verified by comparision with Calderone and Lehman’s pseudo-static test results and Junichi Sakai and Kolleger’s shaking table test results.(3) The influence of some parameters on the hysteresis curve, the skeleton curve, equivalent stiffness, unloading stiffness, the residual displacement, ductility index of residual displacement and residual displacement’s influence coefficient were analyzed by OpenSees software. analys parameters include axial load ratio, slenderness ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, spiral reinforcement ratio, strength hardening coefficient of longitudinal reinforcement, ratio between longitudinal reinforcement strength and concrete strength. Based on changing law of residual displacement’s influence coefficient with every parameter, the calculation formula of residual displacement’s influence coefficient under pseudo-static load was fit by Origin, the accuracy of formula was verified by the pseudo-static test.(4) The influence of some parameters on the average of the maximum displacement and residual displacement, the residual displacement, ductility index of residual displacement and residual displacement’s influence coefficient were analyzed by OpenSees software. analys parameters include axial load ratio, slenderness ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, spiral reinforcement ratio, strength hardening coefficient of longitudinal reinforcement, ratio between longitudinal reinforcement strength and concrete strength.
