Concrete is a kind of heterogeneous multiphase composite, whose failure process has very complexed relationship between stress and strain. Based on finite element method to study the failure process of concrete materials, mostly concrete is regarded as homogeneous material, the simplified calculation fails to reflect the heterogeneity of concrete, and it also can’t reproduce the whole process of concrete material damage. From micro level, this article regard concrete as multiphase composite composed of aggregate and mortar. Using the discrete element software PFC3 D, the particle flow numerical model of concrete is established. Through the triaxial compression numerical simulation of concrete, the contact between particle parameters and macroscopic parameters is established, providing a basis for determining the test parameters of concrete simply-supported beam. And the influence of microscopic parameters on the peak strength of concrete is also analyzed, such as the friction coefficient, porosity, parallel bond radius, and the parallel bond strength and stiffness. This paper provides the method to generate the model of the concrete simply-supported beam, and the method to parameter calibration. Then, the complete failure process of model under static loading is analyzed, and the whole curve of load and displacement of loading point is got.In this paper, through the numerical simulation of mesoscopic damage process of concrete simply-supported beam, the beneficial exploration of failure essence of concrete is carried on.
