Barite concrete is one of the radiation protection concrete.It has the ability of shielding alpha, beta, and some other biological function of harmful rays, so it is usually used in the national defense construction, nuclear power station,medical building and so on, and impact loading is one of the important conditions in these projects. In order to understand the mechanical properties of barite concrete subjected to impact loading, the author used drop-weight test and ansys to research it.(1) the author gets the failure process of barite concrete when the area of strain rate is 1.4s-1~ 4.0s-1, and the force time-history curves, the strain time-history curves and the displacement time history curves,(2) the author finds that in the case of other conditions remain unchanged, the peak load, the loading rate and so on will increase if make the drop hammer heavier or higher.(3) the author has researched the dynamic increase factor of barite concrete under the strain rates 1.4s-1~ 4.0s-1.(4) the author uses ansys/ls-dyna to simulate the mechanical behavior which barite concrete performances under different impact loading.
