With the development of space technology, space deployable antenna has become an important research filed of aerospace science and technology. Deployable structure is the rigid support structure of a space deployable antenna. The deployable joints and support components are the important parts of a deployable structure. The main work of this paper is to research, analyze and design the deployable joints and support components.Firstly, the domestic and foreign existing space deployable structures and research trend are introduced. Then the design principles and target of deployable structures are analyzed and summarized. And then, the Hoop-rib deployable structure is introduced in brief.Secondly, based on the deployable joints design characteristics and requirements, the superiority and inferiority of the existing deployable joint forms are analyzed. And t he reasons of these problems are studied in details. By comparison, two kinds of the forms with high comprehensive performance are selected to improve and design. The structure form of the gear joints, the assembly method of the joint drive, and the connection form of gear joints and links are improved and designed.Thirdly,the function and structure design of the support component are further analyzed, and the design principles and the design target of the deployable structure are summarized. Three new schemes of support assembly are proposed by proper design of support structure form, and models of the three schemes are established and assembled in details.Finally, the detailed joint and support component model established by using UG software are imported into the ADAMS software, and dynamics simulation analyses are implemented. Simulation results indicate that the joint and support components can be deployed smoothly and locked reliably,which validate the rationality and feasibility of the new structure.This paper mainly improves the relevant structures on the basis of deployable structure joints analysis in order to make it more feasible. The new method and schemes of the support assembly design are presented. It provides a valuable reference for future development of deployable structure.
