At first, this paper determines Afive-order polynomial cam and obtains the liftcurve at the contact with the buffer and basic segments of the cam.If using traditionalcalculation method will increase a lot of work, therefore this thesis adopted MATLABoptimization toolbox, then we obtain the cam contour line.Second, the multi-grid method, multi-level multi-integration technique andline-line scanning method are used to solve the thermal EHL problem of the cam-tappetpair.Compared with the isothermal solution, the effect of the oil film pressure, filmthickness and maximum temperature rise in the oil film is explore. When the twosurfaces reverse,the"temperature-viscosity wedge " mechanism is used to explain theinfluence. The influences of the base circle radius and angular speed are alsoinvestigated. Finally, on the basis of thermal EHL problem about the cam follower pair ofsmooth surface, the paper carried out a discussion of the influence of surface dents.Thepaper assumed that the flat tappet surface distributed a series of scallops, and carried outa discussion that how the surface dents’ wavelength influences the lubricating oil film.
