Accompanied by the development of high-rise buildings, pile foundation, as a formof foundation in the building structure, has also gained rapid development. Because ofthe increasingly high buildings, the weight per unit area is getting bigger, making theordinary foundations can not meet current demand. As a basic mode of bearing theupper load, bored piles own the characteristics of small deformation and great bearingcapacity and are widely applied in high-rise and super high-rise buildings. Due to therelatively high bearing capacity, it will be more difficult to carry on a test of bored piles.Also, the material obtained form tests is often incomplete, bringing about manydifficulties for the researches on the pile’s bearing capacity. This paper take the boredpiles with high bearing capacity of the Area A of an internal project as the researchsubject, carrying out some researches on the bearing capacity of bored piles through thecombination of field tests, theoretical analysis and finite element simulation. Thespecific contents are as following:1. Design the testing program on the test piles after an investigation of the fieldsituation and a collection of relative datas. After that, there is a load test on these twopiles. Due to the requirements from the party a of this project, that is, the test pilesshould own another function as engineeering piles, the piles are not loaded to the limit,gaining maximum value (≤limit) of the piles’bearing capacity and thesoil’s lateralfriction. Then take the datas as a basis for an analysis on load transfer and lateralfriction.2. Analyze the interaction between the pile and the soil by the application ofGeneralized Method of Coordination. The results of the analysis and the experimentalresults of the test piles agree well with each other.3. Based on the design parameters of the design piles, build models by usingANSYS and analyze the settlement of the piles top, the deformation of the soil aroundpiles, the axial force of the piles and the lateral friction around piles under the force ofload. Besides that, with the other parameters remain unchanged, change the diameter ofpiles, the length of piles, the soil deformation model, the soil cohesion force and internalfriction angle and other conditions respectively to take simulations on the piles, testing the impacts of these factors on the piles’ bearing performance.
