With the rapid development of China’s High Speed Electrified Railway, the High-Speed Railway corresponding technical requirements of Power System Protection also greatly improved, and accordingly Low Speed railway protection method of corresponding shows a lot of shortcomings. Electrified Railway USES power frequency (50Hz), rated voltage27.5kV or2x27.5kV single-phase AC system. This paper mainly studies the high-speed electrified railway traction network using the2x27.5kV single-phase power frequency (50Hz). To the protection of the High-Speed Railway catenary, now our country is more sections of a main application of over current protection technology, and the application of distance protection technology in Eectrified Railway is less, but due to the directional distance protection, can satisfy the high voltage grade a complex network of rapid and selcctive removal of the requirement of fault component, is more perfect relay protection device. So this article will distance protection to the design and application of High Speed Railway catenary of distance protection system, can better realize the catenary of relay protection.This article first double line AT the end of the application of High Speed Railway parallel to deeply investigate the AT power supply mode, then the equivalent impedance of traction network for the accurate calculation, it is concluded that the train operation when the traction network and the calculation method of total impedance and each unit impedance value of the loop. Then according to the basic principle of distance protection for the whole Distance Protection System for the design and calculation of setting distance Ⅲ where protection of setting of the paragraphs impedance and corresponding action time, and to check its sensitivity, etc. Then, through the principle of microcomputer protection features the entire distance protection system to realize the digital control of microcomputer, microcomputer distance protection system, design and do most of the amount of hardware and software; And join the thoughts and methods of the adaptive system more intelligent, the protection of catenary to more sensitive and reliable.The application at the end of the paper by Simulink environment of Matlab software of electric power system simulation toolbox SimPowerSystems power system simulation module electric model simulation figure concentration of various device. Will paragraphs protection device setting the corresponding parameter values, respectively, on protection respectively in3software simulation, it is concluded that the simulation waveform diagram and the comparison of the calculated value to verify the feasibility of the High-Speed Railway catenary distance protection system.
