As one of the smallest unit of electricity management system-family intelligent power management system, its research is still fragmented in many ways, including how to manage electricity appliances, choose what kind of power mode, how to use family power sources and the optimization problems of meeting grid and so on, which leaded to the slow development of the smart home industry. This thesis designed and improved the home intelligent power management system to achieve a positive role in reducing the electricity fees and load shifting.Based on the study of intelligent load centers, this thesis established a family-oriented intelligent power management system. The system designed software and hardware architecture combining household electricity mode and Internet of things, which illustrated the practicability and compact of the system. In order to optimize overall power consumption, it studied the mathematical models of electricity appliances, and optimized the electricity appliances electric model curve based on the experiments at the University of Helsinki. Considering the storage batteries, small household photovoltaic power generation, electricity pricing mechanism and the role of short-term load forecasting for household electricity; it established a power management system including a variety of devices.According to the behavior of residential electricity, it established the electric model of residential loads. And using the predicted load curve (future development is real-time load curve), adopting dynamic programming and simplified algorithm, it calculated and optimized the residential loads, which achieved reducing electricity fee, reducing peak electricity demand, increasing the valley electricity and increasing the load rate.This thesis designed a number of hardware facilities faced to intelligent power management system and designed smart socket module, communication module, infrared module and display module for the electrical appliances of ESPA802. It obtained satisfactory results by measuring based on the design.
