With the development of society and technology, the improvement of the living standard and the rapid growth of car ownership, vehicles make people travel conveniently. In the meantime, the problems of serious road congestion and frequent accidents are consequently arising. It is reported that the rear-end collision is one of the most common road traffic accidents, and the main cause of the collision is that the driver is not able to promptly determine a safe distance between two vehicles. Therefore, in order to reduce rear-end accident, many countries are seeking to develop the car rear-end technology now.Nowadays, the existing anti-rear-end systems, in which the ranging methods are relatively simple, have only the high-speed rear-end model without the switch between the high-speed mode and the city mode. In addition, these systems probably consider the trees or the boards as a vehicle, thus leading to an unnecessary tip and deceleration in a curve road. The change and the merging of the road are also hardly ever considered.For these problems, the paper takes a deep research on the existing car rear-end control system, and proposes a smart car rear-end control system. Firstly, the decision-making car rear-end control system is studied, including the mathematical model of a safe distance and the design of the fuzzy algorithm. Secondly, the overall structure of the system is introduced, as well as the control unit, the signal acquisition unit, the Zigbee communication unit and the execution unit. Realizing the rear-end collision prevention mode switch between high speed and urban highway through the Zigbee communication technology; Taking Real-time measurement of the distance between two cars by using the combined range estimates of the millimeter wave radar and binocular vision range finder ranging; And the false alarm, when the vehicle rear-end system mistakenly turning roads guardrail, signage as vehicles, is resolved through an angle detection sensor. The hardware includes:S3C2440minimum system, millimeter-wave radar interface circuits, image acquisition interface circuits, LCD display interface circuit design, the alarm module interface circuit, Zigbee communication module interface circuit, CAN interface circuit. Software mainly introduces the transplant of the embedded real-time operating system RT-Liunx. Finally, the Matlab simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the system can effectively prevent rear-end accident, and has important application prospect.
