MEMS (Microelectro Mechanical Systems)is a current research field in theintercross among many subject which based on microelectronic technology. Itinvolves multiple subject and technology, such as electron, machinery, biology, medical science and so on. It has wide prospect of applications.Firstly, the paper introduces the definition, feature and phylogeny of MEMS.Then the paper proposes a MEMS motion sensor with the properties of small size, low cost, light-weight and high reliability. Traditionally, researchers use thehigh-speed graphic signal processing device to capture and analyze people’s gait. But this kind of device is big and inconvenient to move; it is also very expensive, soit can only applied in laboratory. The wireless MEMS motion sensor proposed in thispaper has small size, it can be fixed to any part of human body, and it can be appliedin a complex environment. The paper mainly includes two parts, one is the introduction of the hardwaresystem of the wireless MEMS motion sensor, and the other introduces the software. The part of hardware includes circuit schematic diagram and function of eachmodule. The choice of chips and modules are also mentioned in this part. Thesoftware system consists of lower and upper computer. The software of lowercomputer is used to collect nine channels signals(triaxial accelerations, triaxialangular rates, and triaxial magnetic intensities),then after simple calibration andprocessing, the signals are send to WIFI module. The program of upper computerreceive the data, and then do an algorithm processing, including calibration oforiginal data, calculation of quaternion and attitude angles.During the processing of calculating attitude angles, we use the quaternionextended Kalman filter algorithm. We also use accelerations and magnetic fieldintensities to restrain the drift of gyroscope. The method makes the final result morestable, accurate.
