In order to improve the performance of thermal insulation material,Orthogonal testsand design of experiments with mixture were designed to develop a new phase changethermal insulation material which performs well in insulation retaining, heat storage,etc. The influence law of thermal insulation wall material caused by its phase changecomponents was comprehensively analyzed. The mechanism of phase change on thecomposition of performance of insulation materials were inverstigated by usingscanning electron microscope, three-dimensional super-depth-of-field microscope.The results show that paraffin, sodium sulphate decahydrate and polyethylene glycolall can effectively improve thermal insulation and storage performance of phasechange thermal insulation material. In orthogonal test, the final mixing proportion ofadmixtures was designed as follows: paraffin1.7%, physical foaming agent15%,hydrogen peroxide13%, polypropylene fiber0.4%. The corresponding thermalconductivity of this new material is0.068W/m·K, phase change thermal storagecoefficient is3.142W/kg, compressive strength is0.44MPa, flexural strength is0.31MPa, density is244.1kg/m3.The proportion of this composite phase change thermal insulation material wasdetermined by mixture design experiments. Paraffin accounts for58.7%, polyethyleneglycol27.5%, sodium sulphate decahydrate13.8%. Thermal conductivity and phasechange thermal storage coefficient of the material is0.063W/m·K and3.403W/kg,respectively. The thermal insulation and storage performance of composite phasechange thermal insulation material further improved. Compared to the paraffin merelyadded material, thermal conductivity reduces by7.35%, phase change thermal storagecoefficient increases by8.31%.From the micro perspective, the pore structure changes with the addition of airbubble, forming a porous matrix structure. This account for the good performance ininsulation retaining and heat storage of the new phase change thermal insulationmaterial. This article has preliminarily revealed the influence of the new thermal insulationmaterial components to the thermal insulation properties and heat storage performance,which is helpful to further researches on phase change thermal insulation material.
