Energy is one of the main bases of economic development and people’s living standard improvement. Sustainable development requires clean, safe and efficient energy supply. Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) can generate power in clean and safe way with high energy conversation rate. Increasing attention has been attached to PEMFC in new energy field.This paper focuses on characteristics, power and efficiency control, temperature control, the main contents are as follows:1. In order to propose satisfactory control strategy, research of controlled plant is need. This paper finds out the inner characteristics of power generation process and key points of control research, by analysis of voltage, current density, power density and temperature.2. Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy neural network is applied to model PEMFC operation point. Generalized predictive control strategy is used to control output power, which obtains fast and steady load response.3. As hydrogen is expensive, increasing power efficiency is important for wide application of PEMFC. Based on the relationship of power density and temperature, quadratic polynomial is applied to model the maximum power density point and adaptive generalized predictive control is designed. Compared with ordinary operation strategy, the proposed strategy in this paper achieves the high efficient utilization of hydrogen.4. Steady process and good disturbance rejection ability are very important for safe operation of PEMFC system. However> the temperature is easily affected by change of load and flow rates in anode and cathode. Fuzzy immune PID control strategy is applied and RBF neural network is used to optimize parameters. The proposed strategy combines PID’s advantages and immune mechanism to improve disturbance rejection ability of controller.
