High-strength bolted extended endplate connections is a common node in steelstructure, but different countries or regions adopt different methods, because the designpremise and design steps among every methods are different, these will lead manyconfusions when comes to international communication. But for the same kind of node,no matter which method is used, the calculation results should be similar, so it is verynecessary to investigate on the difference of various calculation methods. The mainscopes of this paper includes:1、This paper selects three different kinds of calculation models among fourcalculation methods of domestic and abroad, including China, England, America. First,calculate these three model with all kinds of methods and compare the results, then,design a high-strength bolted extended endplate connection with all kind of methodsunder the same stress. At last, compare the results combine with these three ANSYSsimulation results, including the bolt stress distribution, the location of neutral axisforce, the change of the bolt stress under the elastic stage and plastic stage.2、Based on the ANSYS simulation of these three models, this paper discuss theinfluences of prestress, vertical load, bolt diameter, endplate thickness, meanwhile, thispaper discuss shear stress distribution of bolts.This paper summarizes these four methods to compares the design premise anddesign steps. It shows the relationship and difference among these four methods, andgives some advice about the calculation methods of high-strength bolted extendedendplate connections.
