Steel structure is more and more widely applied for building nowadays. One of its application is in petrochemical equipment. Although the steel structure is light and the plasticity of is better, fire resistance of steel is poor. The time for fireproof endurance of steel is just less than an hour. This research mainly studied the ultimate bearing capacity of SPSW in fire.Based on the plastic limitation analysis method and The Temperature String Model (TSM), the uniform solution of bearing load is deduced for SPSW after buckling. This thesis takes an ethylene project in Daqing sinopec cracking furnace which is using steel plate shear wall as the research object, and then calculates the bearing capacity of wall with different size under normal temperature and high temperature. In order to verify the effectiveness of the formula, this thesis uses large-scale finite element analysis software ABAQUS to simulate the real situation and calculates the bearing capacity of SPSW under different constraints.The results of this research indicated the accuracy of the formula and the analyzing method of ABAQUS. Different results vary according to different constraints and sizes of SPSW. In this thesis, an effective analysis method is proposed for the steel structure fire protection field.
