With the improvement of vehicle safety requirements of vehicle safety, the research ofvehicle safety changes from passive safety to active safety gradually, especially the vehicleactive anti-collision warning system. The vehicle active anti-collision warning system cansend an alarm signal to the driver before the accident so that driver can take measures inadvance to avoid traffic accidents. If driver reacts slowly, it will slow down or brakeautomatically in order to ensure traffic safety.Combination with Jilin Province Science and Technology Department DevelopmentPlan-‘Research and Development on Vehicle Active Anti-Collision Warning System’, thepaper focus on the false-alarm and miss-detection phenomenon to conduct some researchrelated with false-alarm and miss-detection suppression. The main research contents andconclusions are as follows:First, the paper compared and analyzed the current research situation of vehicle activeanti-collision warning system at home and abroad, and pointed out there are someconstraints about the research at home, including target identification, threaten targetdiscrimination and hardware development. And the paper intended to start from thethreaten target discrimination to conduct research.Second, the paper described the RCS theory based on electromagnetic scattering andradar measurement, and then determined to adopt approximate solution to calculate targetRCS. As to the feature of super large bodies like vehicle, the paper chose Feko software assimulation tool, and nine typical cars as vehicle models to calculate RCS. The paperclassified these nine vehicles into four types based on their RCS. So the paper completedthe classification research of vehicles to provide technical prerequisites for vehicle activeanti-collision warning system.Third, the paper established ego vehicle braking distance model and forecasted targetbraking distance model for each type vehicle, and then established the false-alarm and miss-detection suppression safety distance model combining for each vehicle type, andfinally classified the false-alarm and miss-detection suppression safety distance based onego car’s braking deceleration. The paper analyzed the false-alarm and miss-detectionphenomenon in vehicle special driving condition and then combined the judgment methodof these special driving conditions to conduct the further research. Finally, the paperproposed a false-alarm and miss-detection suppression strategy and makes targetthreatening discrimination processes to provide the theoretical guidance for threateningtarget discrimination and reducing the false-alarm rate and miss-detection rate.Fourth, the paper conducted the research on the software and hardware design ofvehicle active anti-collision warning system. On the one hand, the paper described thehardware components and working principle of vehicle active anti-collision warningsystem, and determined the hardware solutions. On the other hand, the paper chose themodular approach to design the software. The paper used the Infineon developmentsoftware Dave and Tasking software to finish the software development. The paperprovides the software and hardware support for follow-up research.Finally, the paper used the Matlab/Simulink software to establish the false-alarm andmiss-detection suppression safety distance and false-alarm and miss-detection suppressionstrategy model, and used these models to simulate the straight, curve, uphill and downhilldriving condition. The paper conducted the research of inner relationships between leavedistance and safety distance, threaten target and potential threaten target. The simulationresults showed that false-alarm and miss-detection suppression based on RCS is possible,and the false-alarm and miss-detection suppression strategy is valid and rational.The paper is effective to the research of false-alarm and miss-detection suppression ofvehicle active anti-collision warning system, and the paper points a direction for the furtherresearch of vehicle active anti-collision warning system.
