Arch bridge uses arch as the main bearing component in the vertical plane. Under theaction of vertical load, there is horizontal thrust in the arch feet. Then the axial pressuregradually generates. The thrust and the pressure can effectively reduce the mid-spanbending moment. Because of the uniform stress distribution in the arch bridges under thesame load. Arch bridges give full play to the strength of materials. In the recent years, bridges in urban also need meet the requirements that are coordinate with the landscape.Multiple arch bridges are the best choices because of the beautiful shape. In order to reducepacking weight and meet the route demand, multiple arch bridges are often made withabdomen arch inclined slope arch bridges. Because the mechanical characteristics ofmultiple arch bridges with abdomen arch inclined slope is complex. Also it’s necessary togive some useful guidance for construction management. Then we decide to have somedeep analysis of the new type bridge. From the development of reinforced concrete arch bridges, this paper summarizes thedevelopment history at home and abroad, discusses the calculation method for the analysisof arch bridges. Then we put a reinforced concrete multiple arch with unequal-high arch feetas the example to do the stress performance analysis and the simulation management duringconstruction. Through the finite element analysis of the height of the arch effect theperformance to the structure, we get the main conclusions as follows:1. Multiple arches are statically indeterminate structure that will have more complexforce. By monitoring the measuring points in the main arch and arch feet, we found there islarger tensile stress. So we recommend the type of bridge construction should be strictly inaccordance with the construction plan, strength monitoring and the timely feedback. Whenthe reinforced concrete slope multiple arch bridges with spandrel arches constructs, it’snecessary to monitor the whole construction through the simulation analysis.2. The elevation of arch feet has an influence on the horizontal and verticaldisplacement to the reinforced concrete slope multiple arch bridges with spandrel arches. It’s obvious when the bridge construction is nearly end. Moreover, the greater the elevationis, the worse displacement the arch feet has. Compared with the impact of the vertical force, the elevation has less influence on the horizontal support force to the arch feet. With theelevation increase, the axial force in the former half arch (the lower part of the arch)increases, the axial force in the latter half force(the higher part of the arch) decreases. Andthe two change trends are almost anti-symmetric. The effect that the arch feet elevation tothe moment of the corresponding section is not obvious. Compared with the main arch, spandrel parts are more easily to be affected. We also should put special attention on theconnection part of the main arch and the spandrel arch.3. By the construction monitoring, we use the finite element simulation analysis todiscuss the characteristics of the reinforced concrete slope multiple arch bridges withspandrel arches. The result is consistent with the facts.
