Transmission tower, related to people’s lives and national security, is an important project of national infrastructure constructions. It occupies important position of national economy. The destruction of transmission tower will not only cause huge loss, also will have a negative impact to the society. Transmission tower, an important part of electric power system, is directly related to the normal operation of the electric power system. Improving the ability to disaster prevention of power facilities is not only beneficial to national economic development, but also ensure the normal operation of other infrastructures, such as telecommunications, railways, water supply, etc. Avoiding the occurrence of secondary disasters is also beneficial to post-disaster recovery.Based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS, this paper use command stream and GUI operation to establish transmission tower and transmission tower-line system. The static response of transmission tower and transmission tower-line system under static wind with different attack angle is studied, at the attack of wind angle of0°,45°,60°, the displacement value of tower body of single tower is greater than that of transmission tower-line system, however, at the attack of wind angle of90°, the displacement value of tower body of transmission tower-line system is greater than that of single tower. The models are analyzed by modal analysis, the results show that transmission tower vibration frequencies become small, vibration types of the wire appear at first, while vibration types of transmission tower appear in higher order. The dynamic response of transmission tower after considering wire is analyzed by loading fluctuating wind on transmission tower and transmission tower-line system, it is found that the displacement value of tower top of transmission tower-line system at the attack of wind angle of90°is1.83times of that of transmission tower-line system at the attack of wind angle of0°, the attack wind angle90°is the most unfavorable wind. Static analysis and dynamic analysis are compared, using static analysis method is unsafe, it is advised to use dynamic analysis method to design transmission tower. The earthquake response of transmission tower and transmission tower-line system is analyzed by earthquake response spectrum and seismic history analysis. Similarities and differences between them are compared, it shows that the results of seismic history analysis are smaller than that of response spectrum analysis.
