The rotating machine has been extensively used in various areas ofnational production. Its security and stability have been more and moredrawing people’s attention. The fluid-induced vibration caused by rotoreccentricity and the unbalance response would affect the security of rotatingmachines. The anti-swirl flow is an effective method to suppress thefluid-induced vibration in the seal clearance and the unbalance response. It isbound to become the main way to solve the problem of the fluid-inducedvibration in the seal clearance and the unbalance response because of its gooddamping effect and broad applicability. Leakage is the most common fault ofrotating machinery in practice. And advanced sealing technology that couldeffectively inhibit leakage of rotating machinery is the demand of actualproject need. Graphite sealing material has wide application prospects becauseof its good sealing performance. In order to solve the mentioned problems, the related work we have doneis mainly as following:(1) The mechanisms of the fluid-induced vibration and the anti-swirlflow in the seal clearance are analyzed. The flow field of the seal clearance is simulated with using FLUENT. The influence of the radial and tangentialanti-swirl flow’s position and flow to the fluid-induced vibration in the sealclearance is investigated. It is proved that the fluid-induced vibration in theseal clearance can be suppressed by the anti-swirl flow which has the rightposition and flow. It provides effective theoretical basis for engineeringapplications of the anti-swirl flow.(2)It is verified that the fluid-induced vibration in the seal clearance canbe suppressed by the anti-swirl flow which has the right position and flow bymodel experiment. And the influence of anti-swirl flow to the unbalanceresponse of rotor is researched.(3)In order to solve the problems of three-phase asynchronous motor’soil leak, an automatic adjustable seal is designed. The graphite sealing ringsare replaced by the sealing rings of graphite soaked with PTEE. The oil spillof the motor’s bearing seal is resolved by using the automatic adjustable seal.
