With the rapid development of the power system, higher requirements are put forward onfrequency measurement technology. The frequency measurement technology shoud not only behigh precision, but be fast response. However, there is no systematic quantitative analysis to theprecision and complexity of these frequency measurement algorithms. Based on the researchsituation, the paper selects eight frequency measurement algorithms, comparising the accuracy andcomplexity of the frequency measurement algorithms of the power system.Paper introduces the research status quo of power system frequency measurement, on the basisof the frequency measurement algorithm, from two aspects of accuracy and complexity of a varietyof frequency measurement algorithm is evaluated. Studied the noise, harmonic and sampling rateinfluence on accuracy of algorithm, to each kind of algorithm based on Matlab simulation, gave ananalysis of the simulation results; For the complexity of the algorithm is also do the correspondinganalysis and comparison, to actually run time formula and algorithm complexity between two waysto compare the algorithm complexity. Complex wavelet transform based on Morlet is improved, toimprove the measurement accuracy of the algorithm, making its measurement results are basicallyaccord with the requirement of national standard of power system frequency measurement deviation. The traditional Fourier transform has been optimized, making for a slight power frequencyfluctuations of the results of the electrical signals can also be measured accurately. Through thestudy of accuracy and complexity, autocorrelation algorithm, the improved complex wavelettransform based on Morlet, high precision Fourier transform, and the modified covariance spectrumestimation is better. The autocorrelation algorithm and the modified covariance spectrum estimationnot only has high measure precision, and the algorithm complexity is low, can satisfy therequirement of real time power system frequency measurement.
